Brazilian and American Wedding in Logan Utah
Vineyards at Naomi Farms
Putting this wedding into words has been difficult for me because there are so many unique and special moments throughout the day that Natalee and Chris prepared. Natalie and Chris have a story that isn’t the usual love story. They went on their first date over 10 years ago when they both lived in Logan Utah attending Utah State University. But then life happened and they went their separate ways. They are both achievers and have excelled in their careers and their schooling. A few years ago, Chris was out in DC visiting friends. It just so happened that that was , where Natalie lived so he invited her to dinner that same trip. From that first dinner of reconnecting they knew that they had found their person… again. Natalie explained in her vows that when they were trying to decide whether or not to do long distance from Denver to DC Chris said to her “but it’s you.“ *Cue tears*
They made their relationship work over the next few months by meeting up in places all over the country. Finally they got to live together in DC, near the capitol, for the last few months before the wedding. Natalie and Chris are unique in the way that they both proposed to each other separately. Natalie is a reporter for the Wall Street Journal and proposed via a text message with a link to a story. Chris took his turn proposing to Natalie later on top of the famous A at Utah State University with two rings he had made from a block of titanium.
TWO CULTURES, ONE CEREMONY
They were married in a ceremony that combined both of their cultures together. Their dear friend was able to marry them to each other and they honored family members who have passed by putting a remembrance stems into a vase during the ceremony. Natalie surprised Chris and the guests with a portion of of her vows being in Portuguese. They also include the third member of their family in their ceremony when their dog Dahlia brought the rings up the stairs to them via her flower collar. The best part of the ceremony was when they walked down the aisle as husband and wife and had their guests explode confetti canons over them!
DINNER AND RECEPTION
They had bridesmaids and groomsmen travel from all over the world including many guests who came from Dubai where Chris had spent some time. They had a yummy hors d’oeuvres provided by Café Sabor that were Brazil inspired and the guest loved them. The yummy dinner was provided by Firehouse Pizza and what is the perfect meal to feed a large group of people. They had toasts from their dear friends and Natalie’s dad that brought the entire room into giggles and then into tears. Then they moved everyone out to the patio dance floor for some Aggie ice cream and some good music. Natalee and Chris snuck away from the party during sunset for some beautiful vineyard wedding photos. This new venue, the Vineyard at Naomi Farms is stunning in all seasons. Through out the day, I caught Natalie dancing alone, with her girls or finding Chris in a random spot and holding him so tight. The peace that was surrounding the day was so tangible. Natalie‘s grandpa had died only 6 days earlier and they all mourned and his loss at a funeral the day before. But you could truly feel him with the couple on their wedding day and they were able to honor him by holding a small ceremony with him and family just 2 days before he died. This couple has a love more beautiful than any that I’ve seen! I’m so honored to have been selected to serve them on their wedding day!
This wedding was so beautifully decorated just how Natalie dreamed by the amazing Dahlias Floral and Event Planning ladies. Arlette and Terry are incredible at what they do and kept the day running smoothly. Jessica Nelson Hair and Make Up Artistry did all of the ladies make up and hair!! Shout out to my amazing shooter Tanner Reynolds for helping cameras be in two places at once throughout this day.
