The beginning of their story is pretty usual. Girl sees guy. Guy see girl. They exchange mutual flirtations (is that a word?) towards each other. But this all happened for Cara and Christian on the 21st of September at an Earth, Wind + Fire party in Provo (awesome!). Cara was smitten with the cute boy at the party but also a little disappointed he hadn’t gotten her digits. But her disappointment soon dissipated and she was delighted to see that little Facebook notification (dare I say, the most important one of her life?) that Christian Peper had tracked her down and wanted to continue getting to know her! They went disco rollerskating on their first date, which they had chatted about the night they met. It basically sealed the deal; they were smitten with each other!
I’m so excited to get to tell the story of this couple! I think they are so cute and their love story is priceless!! Their pictures are same of the best I’ve ever created and I’m so excited to be part of their journey! This session stole my heart for a few reasons. First, Cara has always dreamed of green, happy colors in her engagement pictures. Unfortunately, winterish-springish Utah wasn’t cooperating with that ideal. So Cactus and Tropicals Pictures in SLC came to the rescue! It was already fully stocked with leafy plants and potted flowers and they were very kind to us about shooting in their greenery! And it was warm!!! I almost forgot what that felt like!
Second, Cara showed up in the most darling dress, and Christian’s outfit was a solid pairing. They were fun, spunky, and all together grossly cute with each other. They have inside jokes out the wazoo, which isn’t required, but makes the “make her laugh” pictures that much more easy! Cara didn’t even wear shoes because “she never does” and it made the session more unique to them and totally adorable. And I am drooling over that custom engagement ring. Cara waited a few extra weeks for those gems and they are stunning. We laughed, twirled (they are salsa dancing professionals), and I loved that Christian was being creative and suggesting his favorite poses he had seen in his “wedding research.” I love when grooms help make their sessions extra special for their fiancé! Another reason that this session rocked my socks is that, their outfits, locations, and pictures are so awesome and totally unique, they not only get one feature on the blog but TWO!
So check back on Tuesday to see their second outfit, which is totally smokin’. (Think red lip stick, high waisted jeans, and a rooftop at sunset.) Oh and his darling proposal story. I guarantee its all worth the wait! Shout out to Cara’s mom who came home from a trip the day of the session and came straight from the airport to help out and keep Cara hydrated and nourished!
