Taylor & Ethan | Windy Engagements

I’ve been patiently awaiting to photograph these two for months! Taylor reached out to me several months ago and so it has been so fun to get to watch their relationship flourish. They are so perfect together!  Falling in love happened pretty fast but they have dated for almost 2 years so they are not only so in love but are best friends! These windy engagements will take your breath away!

Taylor wrote her story with Ethan so beautifully that I will include it here in full:

“Ethan and I have a funny story.  We were both freshman at Utah State and were taking the connections class that they offer a week before the actual semester.  He was in my class and I thought he was very good looking.  After class, I started walking back to my apartment and I was walking right behind him.  We both lived off campus and I was curious to see where he lived.  He started walking into the same apartment complex that I was living in.

I lived on the top floor of pineview and I watched as he also walked to the top floor.  It turns out we were neighbors and we had no idea.  My roommates quickly became really close friends with his whole apartment and we spent every second of everyday together.  If you ask any of our roommates, they will tell you that they knew we would eventually get married and they even had a bet. We dated for about 2 1/2 years before we got engaged.”

The First Date!

“We went to the restaurant elements in Logan.  One of my roommates has family all over Logan so Ethan went to her and asked where the best place to go was.  We ate and just talked for hours.  It was one of my favorite dates.  It has always been so easy with him.  We now go there on our anniversary of dating.”

The Proposal!

“When you have been dating for so long, you can expect the proposal to be coming soon.  We had a date and everything so I knew it was coming, but he did it in a way that I had no idea what was happening! I started Dental Hygiene school at the start of this year and we had discussed getting engaged before I started school because my life would be a lot more crazy.  On Christmas Eve, nothing had happened yet and I was starting to get anxious.  He brought up going on a date on that Saturday.

All week I knew that it was probably happening.  He wouldn’t tell me what we were doing or where we were going to dinner.

It was a huge surprise.  On Saturday, we watched stranger things for a few hours until we went to dinner.  He took me to a Japanese restaurant because I have become obsessed with sushi recently.  As we were leaving, he tells me that dinner was all that he had planned and asked what I wanted to do for the rest of the night.  I’m not going to lie, I was really disappointed because I was sure it was going to happen.  He suggested bowling or even just watching more Netflix and I agreed that Netflix sounded nice.

As we are driving back, we get a call from his dad saying that he is stuck with a dead battery and was wondering if we were close enough to stop by and jump his car.  We pull up to Mueller park in Bountiful where we went hiking a few times.

Ethan turned to me and told me to get out because he wanted to make sure I knew how to jump a car.  I told him that it was too cold and I didn’t want to get out. He looked at me and told me it would only take a few minutes.  I agreed and got out of the car.  We hooked up the cables and his dad got into Ethan’s car to turn it on and as he turned it on, these lights turned on that were wrapped around the bridge that was just behind the cars.

He had faked a dead battery and I was so surprised.  He took me over to the bridge and proposed.  Best night of my life.”

I love these guys! The night of their engagements there were 35 mph winds in UT. They trusted me and we headed up to Tibble Fork anyway. Luckily the canyon protected us and her hair was perfect for some windy engagements. We laughed and adventured and the pictures are some of my favorite ever. Enjoy!!
