Allison & Mike | Antelope Island Maternity Pictures
These maternity pictures hold such a special place in my heart. I grew up with 3 sisters, and I have 4 nieces. No brothers, and no nephews. We have been an all girl family for the last 30 years. I was born into a family of best friends and I couldn’t ask for anything else.
Growing up with a single mom made having sisters even more special, and slightly more chaotic. After school it was just us girls because my mom worked. We once tied Jory to a chair and duct taped her mouth shut… I think we all thought it would be funny, including Jory, but it ended with her climbing out the window and calling our mom from the neighbors house… we claim full responsibility for my mom’s grey hairs. I always had an endless wardrobe, and built in friends when high school was rough. My sisters are my confidants, and second mothers.
I still remember when my first niece was born. We were all so excited to be continuing the girl trend. I had my dream job working as a nanny in Chapel Hill. I worked for the best family, had an amazing group of friends, and thought life couldn’t get any better. But I also couldn’t imagine how isolating life was going to be for Jory. She was a senior in high school when she got pregnant. I wanted to move back to Utah to be close to her. All of my sisters were there when Haegen was born. I flew in the next morning to surprise them all in the hospital.
When Mina was born we lived in Colorado. My mom, sisters, and oldest niece all flew out two days after she was born. I got to be in the room when Charlotte was born. When Mina turned 1 we lived in Arizona. Distance hasn’t gotten in the way of us being there for each other. My sisters all flew out to celebrate her first year of life. It’s been so fun have Haegen, Charlotte, Mina, and now Chelsea so close in age.
We all cried when we found out Allison was having a boy. My mom said she’s 53 years old and she’s never bought something for a baby boy. None of us have until this year, and now we’ve bought enough for 5 baby boys. Haha! We couldn’t be more excited to have the first baby boy join our family.
