I shot the dreamiest San Diego Senior Session with Alyssa! Last fall I got was the opportunity to shoot her family pictures on the shores of Coronado. It was such. good time with their group! When Alyssa’s mom reached out to me for a senior session, I was so excited to be her San Diego Senior Photographer!
I love, love senior sessions!
Senior sessions are a perfect opportunity to celebrate surviving 12 whole years of dedicating your life to schoolwork! That deserves a session dedicated to only you! As a San Diego senior photographer, here are some tips to help prepare you for your session and to make it special for you!
Outfit changes!
I recommend bringing at least 2 outfits to your session. Firstly, bring an outfit that is a little more formal than your day to day outings. Secondly, bring an outfit that is casual, yet timeless to represent your style! In addition, feel free to bring an outfit that really expresses who you are. As a San Diego photographer, we usually end up at the beach. Bring an outfit that you plan to get wet and sandy in! Also, don’t forget that cap and gown!
Make it You!
The best part of senior session is that it is the one of the last and only times you get a session all to yourself! In addition to choosing your outfits, make sure to bring pieces that represent your high school experience. This could be anything from your team sports, dance group, or cheer team! A ball, shoes, a letterman jacket, or class ring is a great way to personalize your session and show off your team spirit!
If you already have your college admissions, bring swag from your future school! You worked hard to get into college and that freshman excitement needs to be documented before it’s squashed by more tests and deadlines!
Location!
I like to choose 1-2 locations with my seniors to make sure they get the backdrops they will treasure in photos for years to come! It’s fun to dress up and head to your stomping grounds and shoot with your school/team spirit. As a San Diego senior photographer, I love picking a second location, usually a beach, to give variety to your gallery. For Alyssa’s San Diego Senior Session, we chose a beautiful field to start and ended up on 2 different beaches and captured a beautiful sunset!
In conclusion, this day is all about you and your time to shine! So practice those smiles and get excited to take the next step toward adulthood!
