There’s something so sweet about photographing someone you’ve watched grow up—and Emma is no exception. She’s my beautiful niece, a theater-loving, artsy soul with a big heart and bold creativity. Emma came fully prepared for her session, Pinterest board and all! She knew she wanted two distinct looks: a dreamy, natural outdoor setting and something with a grungy, urban edge. Oh, and sparklers were a non-negotiable (obviously). She also needed a headshot for her upcoming theater auditions, and we nailed that too!

We were met with a bit of chaos—rain, hail, and moody skies—but it gave us everything we didn’t know we needed. A rainbow, giant puddles in a parking garage (perfect for those reflections), and the kind of stormy sky that made Emma’s energy pop. It was like the weather joined the session to match her dramatic flair.
