Emotional Wedding Day

I’m not sure I’ve ever been part of a more emotional wedding day and it still gives me chills to think back on it. There was such a clear connection of Derek and Jamey with their families. Every single moment of the entire day was emotionally charged. Derek’s mom was crying from the first note of the mom-son dance. Getting a front row seat to people’s most emotional moments is the greatest honor.

American Acres Venue

Jamey and Derek met last year via a popular dating app. This was the day it finally culminated into the most beautiful wedding ceremony. They were married at American Acres in Box Elder County and it was the perfect venue for their special day! After getting ready photos with the girls, they took a few private moments for a first look away from prying eyes. I love when couples include a first look because it helped the day go so smoothly and these two were able to hold each other and gush about each other without a whole audience of people. It was one special moment! Their ceremony was performed by Derek’s dad. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. The river backdrop behind them as so autumnal and perfect for their relaxed wedding day vibes.

Dinosaur Suit Wedding

Their reception was a party like no other! In all my years of shooting weddings, this DJ was the best I’ve ever seen! If you want a dance party that people talk about for years hire him! The room exploded in tears when the first dance song had their vows over-laid with the song. It was such a stunning and heart felt moment. And then the room exploded in laughter when Derek’s mom came into the room wearing a dinosaur outfit! It was so hilarious and Derek loved it!! I’m so thrilled that I got to experience the evening with such amazing people and capture these memories for them! I wish we could relive this day over and over together!! Congrats you two!
