One of the absolute best parts of this family session was helping Jelana and Josh Burnett share some very exciting news—baby number six is on the way. This winter family session at The Narrows in Cache Valley was already beautiful, but the surprise pregnancy announcement made it even more meaningful.
And somehow, in the middle of December, we were gifted the most stunning golden light. Soft glow, calm surroundings, and a joyful family moment—it truly felt like a winter miracle.
A Favorite Location for Logan Canyon Family Photos
As a Logan Canyon family photographer, places like The Narrows (even though it’s not in Logan Canyon) are some of my favorite winter locations. It’s tucked away, peaceful, and protected from harsh wind, which makes it ideal for colder months. Even in December, the textures, trees, and canyon light come together beautifully.
Snow or no snow, this area consistently delivers soft, flattering light that photographs so well. The Burnetts’ gallery is proof that winter family photos in Logan Canyon can be just as dreamy as summer sessions.
A Subtle and Sweet Pregnancy Announcement
This session was the perfect blend of family photos and a quiet, meaningful reveal. Jelana mentioned how hard it was to keep the secret until photo day—and honestly, I get it. But they did such an amazing job.
We worked in a few subtle details: a gentle hand on the belly, close moments between the two of them, and just enough hints to tell the story without overpowering the session. It felt natural, emotional, and very them.
