Northern Utah Photographer | Must-Have Items for Your Newborn Photo Session
Congratulations, Mama! Your little one is finally here, and now it’s time to capture all that newborn sweetness. As a Northern Utah Photographer, I want to help you feel totally prepared for your newborn session. Here’s what to bring to make sure everything goes smoothly!

For Baby:
Soft, Neutral Outfits – Avoid anything with big patterns, words, or stiff collars. Simple is best!
A Favorite Swaddle – Babies love being wrapped up tight, and swaddles create timeless, cozy images. We have lots of swaddle options, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you want them used.
Diapers & Wipes – Expect a few outfit changes and maybe a diaper blowout—it’s all part of the newborn experience!
A Pacifier – Even if your baby doesn’t normally take one, it can be a lifesaver for keeping them calm.

For Mom & Dad:
Neutral, Comfortable Outfits – Soft tones like beige, white, or pastels look beautiful in photos. Avoid bright colors that reflect onto baby’s skin.
Snacks & Water – Newborn sessions can take a couple of hours, and keeping yourself fueled is just as important.
Patience & Flexibility – Babies run the show, and that’s okay! Sessions are relaxed, with plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and cuddles.

Extras to Consider:
Sentimental Items – A special blanket, a family heirloom, or a little stuffed animal can make your photos even more meaningful.
Lotion or Baby Oil – If your newborn has dry skin, a little moisturizer can help smooth out flaky spots.
Extra Hands – If you have bring siblings to your newborn shoot, having a partner, grandparent, or friend to bring along is so helpful!
The most important thing? Enjoy the experience! Newborn sessions are a time to slow down, snuggle your baby, and soak in those first precious weeks. If you’re looking for a Northern Utah Photographer to capture these fleeting moments, let’s chat!
