This post is a little bittersweet for me! I’m so glad that Skyler and Yarina are officially hitched and living life as husband and wife, but it also signifies that I don’t get to hang out with them anymore!! I am not lying when I tell you that they are a dream to work with. They are among my first Kylee Ann couples and they have surprised me with their vibrant personalities all through out this process.
Their wedding day wasn’t anything short of amazing, which is exactly what they deserved. I’ll start out by telling you that weekday weddings are my new fave; the temple grounds were quiet, and we had the iconic temple stairs to ourselves for as long as we needed. If you are considering getting married on a weekday, pull the trigger and invite me to photograph it! Yarina looked absolutely stunning as she emerged from the temple, and Skyler couldn’t have been happier to have his brand new wife by his side. Friends and family gathered outside in the extremely nice spring weather to congratulate them.
The first thing Yarina did after a quick kiss and dip on the stairs was hurry to tell her new 5 year old brother-in-law happy birthday, it was so cute. There were many hugs and laughter from all the people most important to them who had made the trip to SLC to celebrate. There was such an amazing energy from these newlyweds. We gathered everyone for a big group picture on the stairs. Yarina’s family came all the way from Aruba, and were so excited to see the sights and church history that Temple Square has to offer.
It was always a dream for Yarina to be married in the Salt Lake City Temple and thanks to her Skyler, that dream became a reality. After we finished up the family pictures, we finished up with Temple pictures of Yarina and Skyler, which is always my favorite part of a wedding day. There is always something so special about how a couple feels and interacts in front of the camera just hours after they’ve been married. I love that pictures have always been so important to Yarina and we were able to capture a little spring with the new flowers budding on the temple grounds. Shout out to my second shooter, Tiffanie for being a rockstar and helping carry my bags!!
We headed over across the street to City Creek for their amazing luncheon at the Cheesecake Factory before hitting the road back to Logan for their reception that night. Friends and family came together to create such a simple and classy reception. Yarina’s family brought treats and food from Holland and Aruba and the guests couldn’t get enough of all the yummy food! There were several high school boys who were serving all the deep fried Aruban cuisine and there were small touches of Holland windmills and clogs spread through out the tables and decor. The cake was a magnificent tower of the cutest cupcakes, complete with die cut wrappers, yellow flowers and a blue ribbon.
Yarina and Skyler spent the evening greeting friends and family, all of which seemed to absolutely adore the couple. They rounded out the evening by cutting the cake, tossing the bouquet, and their first dance. Then the party started! All the cousins lined up and turned on some tunes and created a dance tunnel. It was so fun!! I’m so excited for Yarina and Skyler to officially begin their lives together! Enjoy!
