One of the most rewarding things about  being a Torrey Pines photographer is getting to experience the energy of an extended family getting together for reunions!  I think it’s so fun to witness core memories happening right in front of me. My family is blended, large, and spread out.  I can’t even remember the last time we all got together at the same time.  I know what a sweet reunion it can be when everyone is spread out across the country, or even the globe! 

The LeWarne’s 

Jacque and her husband Jake live here in San Diego with their sweet girls CeCe and Mila. They hosted her whole family this fall when everyone came to town. It was so fun to get to know the whole gang and where everyone came from! Along with mom and dad, her  Bobby and wife Maddy and their little boy Reece came from Iowa. Her brother Luke and girlfriend Argentina (who I swear is low key undercover Camila Cabello) came from Chicago. Lastly, her brother Stevie came all the way from New York City!

I could not have guessed that this family didn’t see eachother every single day because they were all in on this process together! All of them, including the ones without kids, were jumping, dancing, and singing all the kids songs to help the little ones smile for pictures! They were laughing and joking around, cheering each other on the whole time.. It was such a fun session and made me wish I grew up in their family! 

Location 

Fall in San Diego is a little non-existent so we have to get creative when it comes to “fall looking” pictures. Jacque’s mom wanted everyone in shoes, but also wanted a nature look. It was quite the task when our schedules only overlapped on a specific morning. I found the perfect spot on top of Torrey Pines that was off the busy hike path, but still woodsy and beautiful. It was the perfect spot for early morning pictures thanks to the lingering marine layer over Torrey Pines. 

It was a perfect combination of a beautiful location and a fun family dynamic. Sessions like these make my job as a Torrey Pines family photographer easy peasey, lemon squeezy!
