Back in October when Kylee first made the official announcement of me joining the Kylee Ann Team as the new associate photographer, I couldn’t wait to dive in and work even more closely with Kylee and with amazing Kylee Ann brides. It was exciting but seemed like it would take quite a while before I would get a booking, and with any new job there is a level of uncertainty and nervousness that accompanies it. Luckily for me, Kaycee found our website via Pintrest back in November and became my first official Kylee Ann wedding!! There isn’t a more perfect couple to have been my first; they are so kind, relaxed and in-love. I have to say that it is a little bittersweet that their wedding day is over because I have totally enjoyed working with them! At first we discussed what you need to know about getting married at the London Eye, but later they opted for a more traditional wedding. Kaycee has this quiet confidence about her, and as a bride that translated into true beauty. Seeing them come out of the SLC temple as husband + wife was such a happy moment and you could tell Jared was over the moon excited to get to have her by his side forever. (I think he was also pretty excited about his STAR WARS wedding ring.) After their grand exit, we gathered all the friends and family to the stairs for some group portraits. Lucky for us, only 6 weddings were scheduled for that day so we had plenty of time. Kaycee and Jared’s friends and family were so fun, and we were all so happy that we had a little bit of extra sun for the February day. Friends and family shared funny stories about the couple during their luncheon at the Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square. The day got really fun after the luncheon when I went to turn my car on in a parking lot in SLC to head to the Draper reception, and my car battery was dead! Thankful for the Utah photographer’s Facebook group, where my SOS was quickly responded to and a local photog and a guy in the parking lot helped me jump my car. I’m also thankful for relaxed and compassionate brides and grooms like these two. :) Their reception was downright breathtaking, and it was located at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper. The space is a green house by day and a wedding venue by night. All their pictures in mix matched frames were adorable. There were all kinds of plants and fountains everywhere (the kids all lovvved those and I loved following them around with my camera). I think everyone felt like they could breathe better in there with all the extra O2. Friends and family came to greet the newlyweds and ate yummy tacos and churros. At the end of the night, Kaycee and Jared cut their gorgeous cake, and quietly snuck out the front doors!
P.S. I love when my brides share their images with their friends, especially bridesmaids. Kaycee’s ladies were so kind to me and I ate lunch at their table. I found out Natalie (the cute blonde) is engaged. She said to me “So, not to be creepy, but I have totally stalked you and your website…” I had to choke back tears because it was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Haha! I’m happy to say that April 19th is officially taken because I will be spending it with cute Natalie and Neils at the Provo City Center Temple! (Bucket list item, check!)
