On July 21st, 2015 Darrick brought the girl of his dreams to a park on the outskirts of Provo. He was nervous, but also so comfortable at the same time. Amber headed straight to the swing and Darrick held her from behind. He wanted to kiss her. He first kissed her on the cheek because she was also so nervous. Then he came up to the front of her and pulled her face to him and kissed her. Amber described it as the sweetest, best first kiss ever! This park was forever a sacred spot. That was even more confirmed when about a month ago, Darrick brought her back and asked her the most important (and easy) question of her life on the exact same swing. She can barely wait to be his wife.
Because their connection to this place was so strong, it was an easy choice to head to the park for the first location of their session. Amber chose to get her makeup and hair done in SLC and I am so glad she decided to get a little pampered before her sessionj! She is so pretty, and professional makeup just showed that beauty off in the best way. We got them warmed up in front of the camera in the gorgeous setting sun light. Then we headed to the swing. Amber loves the story of her first kiss so much, it was really important to recreate it. They were so cute and giggly as they reminisced about their memories at the park. They are truly best friends and it was so refreshing to catch a peek into their love story!
Our next location was up the canyon, but unfortunately it’s still early enough in the year that the road was blocked of to where we wanted to go. I think that “Road Closed” sign was a blessing in disguise because it forced me to get creative in a landscape I’ve never visited before. Let’s just say that the stars aligned. Everything about the soft diffused light, pastel colored outfits and deserty, mountain landscape same together for the dreamiest engagement images. I loved watching Darrick scoop up his sweetie because her heels weren’t conducive to the mild hiking we were doing. Once we changed outfits, Amber grabbed him by the hand and led him around the bushes, holding his hands behind her like she always does. Everything about last Friday was so romantic. We even saw a few deer jumping through the thickets! Amber is also my favorite because she took her images straight to Facebook to U share with her friends and family. She had told me she hasn’t shares her very favorite yet and I can’t wait to see which it is! Leave Amber and Darrick some love below!
