Washington DC Family Photographer | Stephanie & Scott
Being in DC for the National Cherry Blossom Festival was an incredible experience. People watch the cherry blossoms for months and try to predict when they will blossom. They even give you predictions for peak blossom. But, with all things mother nature, the predictions are rarely spot on. This year they got a cold front and it postponed the blooming a few weeks, but lucky for me it made it so my trip was during the peak blossom.
Being a tourist I didn’t know exactly what to expect. Everything I read online said it’s nearly impossible to take pictures near the Tidal Basin, even at sunrise the crowds move in F A S T. I joined some different photography groups and reached out to everyone I know in the area. A friend of mine gave me this secret spot to go to and it was PERFECT. There was no one around, but the blossoms were absolutely perfect!
Stephanie and Scott both graduated from Utah State University and then moved to D.C. for work. It was so fun to connect with some fellow Aggies and explore the monuments taking pictures. Their sweet friends came along and helped so that their baby Piper could be in the pictures too. Some photographers don’t let you bring your dogs, but I love it when clients want to bring their fur babies!
