Passion Project
Talk about how much I LOVE my #kyleeannpassionproject and using my talent of photography to serve in the hardest of times. I find strength in being in the most vulnerable moments of people I love. Sometimes it’s the saddest and sometimes it’s the strongest moments. I’m honored to be apart of this breast cancer awareness passion project.
Breast Cancer Awareness
This time the client was my Aunt Marci. She was so strong. Her son, my cousin Collin, shaved her head in my front yard with her tribe surrounding her wearing shirts of pink. It was a few moments of strength, friendship and hope.
Aunt Marci
“Tomorrow the real fight begins. As we started shaving my head I was overcome with emotion. I thought to myself, ‘I can’t do this!’ But as my hair fell to the ground my next thought was, ‘Don’t cry now. We have a photo shoot to do.’ Then I looked around at the family and friends watching in support and the fear melted. In the past few weeks I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned I am more like my Angel Mom than I realized. I have an amazing tribe supporting me. I got this!!”
A Note From a Friend
“I’ve known this lady for a long time-as a parent of my students, as a colleague, as a runner, and as a friend. I’ve seen her build others up, as her own world was quietly crumbling around her. Marci is one of the strongest women I know, and showed that again tonight as we watched her fair fall to the ground. But NERCs, I swear that as her hair fell, her strength rose. She is facing this battle like no other person could, with graceful badassery.
As Marci starts her chemo this week, I’m asking you to dedicate a run, workout, or race to her, and then post about it here so she knows that her NERC family has her back. Wear pink proudly, and move for Marci!”
We’re all behind you Auntie, you got this. We Love You.
