Rachel’s 25th birthday was quickly approaching and all I had planned was a girl’s night in with some of her closest friends. Not lame, but nothing compared to what Rachel does for all of her friends on their birthdays. If you know Rachel, you know she is the BEST PARTY PLANNER. When my new nanny casually (and probably jokingly) brought up the idea of throwing a Bachelor Party for her, I quickly changed my plans.  BEST IDEA EVER! Rachel and I are Bachelor lovers. Its not the thing we like to lead conversations with, but we definitely throw parties every Monday night and participate in the ABC fantasy league ;). It’s hilarious entertainment, and I knew it would be the perfect birthday party for her. It was 10pm the night before the big 2-5 and I was determined to make it happen. The problem was I’ve been married for 6 years and don’t really know too many single guys. I posted a CASTING CALL on Facebook and Instagram, and the tags started rolling in. Rachel was completely expecting the night in with the girls and even had her brother stop by his apartment to grab her suit. She was tracking her friends on “Find your Friends” and knew they were coming down from Provo.

We had 11 men show up at my house at 6:45pm on Friday night. I didn’t know them. They didn’t know me. They didn’t know Rachel. and only 3 of them knew each other. THEY ARE SO BRAVE! We quickly gave them the overview of the night and debriefed them on a season of the Bachelor. Most of them had NO idea what was going on. We told them they could be as cheesy or as normal as they wanted, but didn’t script them in any way throughout the night. We reenacted a full season of the Bachelor in one night. THESE GUYS WERE AMAZING. They got into their roles, starting asking for interviews and fighting over Rachel better than I could have ever scripted them to do. My cheeks hurt from laughing the entire night. It was nothing I expected and because of them definitely way better than I could have ever planned.

Every man got a rose that night, but only ONE stayed till the very end and got Rachel’s phone number. Not only did he get the number, but he used it! Mike M and Rachel went ice skating just one day later! Good work Mike M! What a gentleman!!
