Like every San Diego wedding photographer, my dream wedding involves a surf session, spank tunnel, and a roller coaster ride.
Julia and Hyatt are such an adventurous couples! I had so much fun getting to know them! Between taking engagements on sea cliffs, to taking bridals on a yacht, they know how to have fun!
Immediately after meeting the couple I fell in love with them and their family. Julia’s sweet mom Kathleen walked me through wedding planning and I was drooling with every new plan set into place, including bridals on a yacht!
Early Morning Surf Session
The bride and groom started the day with a morning surf session at grand view beach. If that isn’t a San Diego wedding photographer’s absolute dream, I don’t know what is. First, the bridal party gathered in the parking lot to suit up! Julia’s aunt surprised all the bridesmaids with matching hot pink rash guards. Mother of the Bride, Kathleen surprised Julia with a white wetsuit signifying her status as bride! Second, close friends and family followed the couple down to the beach with surfboards and boogies boards. Last, the paddle out ended with a round of Leucadia donuts because everyone was so hungry.
Spank Tunnel
After the fun morning family, friends, and the bridal party met at the San Diego LDS temple. I knew this was going to be a fun crowd, for instance, Julia and Hyatt were greeted with cheers and a spank tunnel, I knew this was a fun crowd. After family pictures, they were met with a white, convertible Porsche. Next we had just a few minutes to grab some stellar pictures with the car. After pictures, we headed to the reception at the Coastal Terrace at Belmont Park!
Coastal Terrace Reception
After a few shots on the beach, the couple made their grand entrance on top of Belmont Park for a quick ring ceremony where they made the most beautiful promises to each other. Next they left the altar and broke right out into their first dances. Hot dog on a stick circled around for all the guests during the traditional dances.
Roller Coaster Ride
Immediately after a fajita bar and beautiful video tribute, the bridal party and guests got a ride on the roller coaster called The Giant dipper, meanwhile, a crowd formed and congratulated the bride and groom as they exited the ride because of their iconic
Everyone danced until they dropped with beautiful view of the boardwalk lights! Most importantly, we cannot forget that Hyatt busted so many moves that he busted his pants open!
Final Exit
Lastly, Julia and Hyatt ended the evening peeling out in that white convertible Porsche. Now the happy couple are off honeymooning in Cabo!
In conclusion, I felt so lucky to be their San Diego Wedding Photographer! I had the best time working and playing simultaneously!
