Merlin Olsen Park in Logan is the perfect spot for mini sessions.  There is a big beautiful open green field, but that isn’t the only option.  These dense mature trees surrounding the pathway make it feel like you’re on a stroll through a forest.

Beth and her husband are both from Oregon, so naturally this was the perfect spot for them to feel right at home.  Their dogs too.  They often take them on walks so they were definitely in their happy place.

This was the first time they had professional pictures taken!

Despite the several years they have spent together, they had never had professional pictures taken.  I’m so glad I was able to help with that!   We had so much fun together as they told me about themselves, and also as I told them to forget I was there so I could capture their relationship like a fly on the wall.  The dogs had a harder time forgetting I was there though.  They were really loving all of the extra attention and the excuse to dance with their owners.  At least one of them did.  Of course we had to make sure they were in the spotlight as well.  I can’t get over those kind little eyes and that cute light blue bandana.

My goal is a variety of poses, both sitting and standing.

I also love that we were able to find a perfect little bench for them to all sit and snuggle on.  During our photoshoots together my goal is to get a variety of  poses  both  sitting  and  standing.  Benches  are  great  at  giving  variety.

As you can see Merlin Olsen Park Logan is a favorite of mine for so many reasons!  It is beautiful through all of spring, summer and fall.  These late August evening the weather was absolutely perfect and the light was exactly what I hope for at all of my sessions.  Especially that little bit of backlight diffused through the foliage.  That is one of my favorite things!
