Seaside Oregon…where childhood dreams come true. At least they did for me. And my dad. And now my kids too. Three generations of traditions. Year after year we come and do the exact same things and it’s just as amazing as the time before.
Some Seaside MUSTS:
- The Beach – Duh, right? Don’t expect to be out in your bathing suit 90% of the year. The beaches in the PNW are for people who love to be fully clothed. I prefer sweats. The cozier the better. Kids can usually handle the cold better than adults and don’t mind splashing around a little. But its just as fun fully dressed. No matter where you stay in Seaside, the beach is usually only a few blocks away. Walking distance, it’s amazing!!
- Ecola State Park – Not only is Ecola State Park SO gorgeous in EVERY direction, but full of fun for kids. We went pretty early before the sun broke through the clouds, which made the entire beach our own playground. The kids had the entire place to themselves. They found starfish, shells and tons of crabs. You will NOT be disappointed in this gorgeous state park.
- The Carousel Mall – Its a tiny little mall right in the middle of Seaside. Every shop is so fun, and so cute. We love the sweatshirt shop full of cheap designs that we ALWAYS purchase. The toy store is not only super fun, but greatly priced. There’s knick knacks in all the surrounding shops from magician kits, old school lunch boxes, sea shells and more. The hat shop is a must for silly hats and cute snapbacks too. Most importantly, he center of the mall is the carousel for endless fun.
- Candy Shops…any and all. – The kids love picking out their own candies while we stock up on a year supply of salt water taffy in every flavor. Amazing!
- The Arcade – This has been a tradition for as long as I can remember. My grandma would give us a baggie of coins and we would spend HOURS in the arcade when we went to Seaside. Now they are fancy card machines and crazy upgraded games, but the kids love it just the same. Piper doubled everyones tickets, and Brody came in second. They left with bags of candy, stuffed animals and more.
