Utah State Capitol Family Session | The Chapple Family
As a Davis County Family Photographer, I have so many locations that I love to recommend! One of those is the Utah State Capitol! I’m so grateful that I had the chance to capture the Chapple Family this past fall! I had never met Mandy and Brad before, but we left our session feeling like such great friends – they’re the kind of people that are easy to talk to, they’re funny, and so very kind.
When I asked Mandy where she wanted to have her annual family photos taken, she said she was game for anything! She texted me, “The only thing that matters is that my family is there with me!” How precious and humbling is that?! Often times, we get wrapped up in the tick-tacky details of family photos and forget what they’re really about – being together with your family! However, sometimes you need some suggestions for the best location that suits your family. Here are my tips!
1. Consider Your Family’s Personality:
Every family is unique, so it’s essential to choose a location that reflects your family’s personality and interests. Are you outdoorsy and adventurous? Consider a scenic park or nature reserve for your photoshoot. Do you love the hustle and bustle of the city? Opt for a metropolitan downtown area.
2. Considering the Season:
When planning your family photoshoot, don’t forget to take the season into account. The time of year can significantly impact the look and feel of your photos, as well as the overall experience of the shoot.
3. Consider Accessibility and Comfort:
It’s essential to consider accessibility and comfort, especially if you have young children or elderly family members. Opt for locations that are easy to access and navigate, with amenities like parking, restrooms, and seating available nearby. Also, consider factors like weather and terrain – you don’t want your family to be uncomfortable during your session.
4. Consult with Your Photographer:
Your photographer is your ultimate ally when it comes to choosing the best location for your family photos – like I said, I have some favorite, beautiful, frequented locations up my sleeve! I am an expert at helping you find a location that suits your vision and style.
