Variety in Product Photos | Elkie and Co

Creating variety in product photos is important to capture the attention of potential customers and showcase your products in a unique and visually appealing way. One way to create variety in product photos is by using different models and backdrops. Here are a few reasons why this can be a helpful approach:

  1. Highlighting Different Features: Using different models can help you to highlight different features of your products. For example, if you sell clothing, using models of different ages, body types, and skin tones can help you to showcase how your products look on a variety of people. This can help potential customers to imagine how the clothing might look on them and make a purchase decision.
  2. Appealing to Different Audiences: Using different models can also help you to appeal to different target audiences. For example, if you sell makeup, using models with different skin tones can help you to show how your products work on different skin types, making it more appealing to a diverse group of potential customers.  In this case the brand had me incorporate some children with their moms as well in order to show that their bags are ideal to use as a diaper bag.
  3. Creating a Cohesive Brand Aesthetic: While using different models and backdrops can create variety, it’s important to ensure that your product photos still have a cohesive brand aesthetic. By using similar lighting, editing techniques, and product styling, you can ensure that your photos look like they belong together, even if they feature different models and backdrops.
  4. Highlighting Different Moods: Using different backdrops can also help you to create different moods and emotions in your product photos. For example, using a bright and colorful backdrop can create a fun and playful mood, while using a darker and more dramatic backdrop can create a sense of sophistication and luxury.
  5. Keeping Things Fresh: Using different models and backdrops can help you to keep your product photos fresh and interesting. This can be particularly important if you have a large catalog of products or if you’re using the same product photos across multiple marketing channels.

Overall, using different models and backdrops can be a helpful strategy for creating variety in product photos. By highlighting different features, appealing to different audiences, creating a cohesive brand aesthetic, highlighting different moods, and keeping things fresh, you can create visually appealing product photos that help to drive sales and build your brand.
