Kaylie’s parents moved to Bountiful a few years ago. They didn’t know it at the time but they moved into Ryan’s grandma’s old house. He had just left on his mission to Madagascar, so it was another two and a half years until Kaylie met her future husband. Here is the story right from Kaylie about their first date! “We have a mutual friend. Ryan picked me up Sunday May 28th! We had been in the same ward since November and hadn’t even talked! After that Sunday night I would go up and talk to him every week. Then he added me on Facebook the same day as the ward campout that I’d planned. I messaged him and he ended up coming up Saturday. Then I gave him a ride home. Our first date was a couple weeks later. He was really nervous, but he figured if I said no I would say it nicely. I said, “Yes” of course!” Their first date was a Bees game. There were fireworks after (literally and figuratively). Just a few weeks ago Ryan popped the question. He picked up the ring just hours before he convinced Kaylie to go up the mountain to look for a lost fitbit. She was pretty much on to him but up the mountain they went!! He surprised her with a bunch of pictures hanging from trees and her own dad in the trees taking pictures. Kaylie was so excited to say yes to forever with her man!
Kaylie has been planning her wedding and pictures for years. She is a photographer herself so it was such a joy getting to make her vision come to life! We headed up the canyon here in Logan and found this amazing little gully, with great light. We joked the whole time that we were transported to Oregon for the evening. I love woodsy Utah engagements! It was so fun getting to see their personalities come through on camera and see just how committed these guys are to each other. I love them! Enjoy!
