Luke and Kylee | Part 4: Dating for Real

Part 4: Dating for Real

Luke came home on a Thursday. I saw him in the airport for a brief hello, slipped him my note and then he was gone. I left for an overnight retreat at Bear Lake on Friday. I hadn’t even heard from him yet. I left him my phone number in the note, but Luke didn’t have a phone yet (obviously) and who knew if he even wanted to talk to me. I broke up with the guy I was dating in the bottom bunk of my cabin via text. (So sorry…I’m awkward…He took it like a champ and probably half expected it also). Eventually I heard from Luke, and we went on our first date that Saturday. I can’t remember if it was that same day or the next Saturday when he awkwardly grabbed my hand for the first time in the middle of the Blindside on his grandma’s couch. Missionaries don’t hug, kiss, hold hands or have any physical contact with girls for two years. They come home a bit stiff ;) Learn more about relationships and how to make a woman fall for you.

Our first kiss post-mission was sometime during those first few weeks home. He offered to drive me down to South Jordan to see my dad who was in town for work. On our way back we stopped by Times Square so he could kiss me again in the very same place we had our first kiss a few years earlier. The rest is history. We hung out every single night and thanks to pluc we knew what to ask each other. We did the college things, we watched movies, we cooked and we sat under that stars and talked. Until one day the topic of marriage came up. It wasn’t scary. It came so natural. Like it was 100% meant to be. We went home for fall break in the middle of October so he could ask my dad a big question.

Stay tuned for Part 5 coming next Tuesday ;)
