Balboa Park + Sunset Cliffs engagements | Deanna and Alex
Balboa Park and Sunset Cliffs San Diego engagements are a great idea not only in the spring, but year round! You can always count on beautiful, perfectly landscaped blooms no matter the time of year in Balboa, and Sunset Cliffs never disappoint with sweeping views of those classic So Cal sunsets. It was only obvious that Deanna and Alex would want to come here for the first half of their engagement session!
California Sun is always a good idea
Deanna and Alex are from New York and love visiting San Diego! They plan on having a late fall wedding on the East coast and knew that they wanted to incorporate some California sun to be apart of their celebration!
Pictures in Alcazar Garden
We started in Alcazar Garden on a busy weekend afternoon, but that didn’t stop everyone from congratulating the two of them as we shot! Deanna wore a terracotta velvet wrap dress as a nod to her bridesmaid colors and it complimented all the foliage around the park! We had the most perfect views of the California Tower and shot all the must have Balboa architecture that they came for!
Chasing the Sunset
After we finished up in Balboa Park we chased that sunset all the way to Sunset Cliffs! Deanna made a quick change in their rental car! She came out of the car in a flowy white dress all ready for her rocky beach pictures on the cliffs!
Alex and Deanna danced atop of Sunset Cliffs as they told me about their love story and their jobs. We had the most magical sunset and even passed next to a van where two Bachelor stars were also enjoying that same sunset!

Deanna and Alex have been together for 5 years and spending a weekend together in San Diego was the perfect little getaway to celebrate with each other before all the maddening of the wedding planning starts!
