Sawyer! I cannot believe she’s 8. I have been taking her pictures since she was a tiny little girl. She was sooo excited to twirl in her white baptism dress a few weeks before her big day.
A child’s baptism is a momentous occasion that deserves to be documented for years to come. It is a day when the child officially becomes a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and starts a new chapter in their spiritual journey.

1. Plan Ahead:
Make sure to schedule the photo session a few weeks in advance. This will give you plenty of time to decide on the location, outfits and any other props or accessories you want to incorporate. Be sure to communicate with your child on what they want their photos to look like and what they want to wear. It’s called “their” session after all.
2. Choose the Right Location:
Choosing the right location for the photo shoot is crucial. Ideally, it should be a place that holds significance for your child, such as the church they attend, or at a body of water like a lake or river. A pretty field of flower, etc. If your child is shy or has any sensory issues, try to find a quiet and calm location where they feel comfortable – this will make for the best possible photos.
3. Dress for Success:
Outfits play a huge role in the final photographs. For girls, a white dress is traditional and always looks elegant. For boys, white shirts, suits, and ties are classic and formal. Make sure their clothing is age-appropriate and fits them perfectly. Coordinate their outfit colors accordingly and accessorize with religious symbols and personalized touches if desired.
4. Add Personal Touches:
Photos are a great way to highlight your child’s unique personality and character. Incorporate personal touches into the photo session such as a favorite toy, sports equipment, or even a hobby they enjoy. These small touches will make the photos extra special and more meaningful to your child.

The most important part of the photo session is making sure your child is comfortable and having fun. Relax and let things unfold naturally, and avoid forcing poses or facial expressions.
