Denzil Stewart Park Extended Family Photos | A Beautiful Logan Location for Multi-Generational Portraits

There is something incredibly special about photographing your own family. The Belnap family’s Denzil Stewart Park extended family photos were especially meaningful to me because they’re my uncle’s family. It’s always an honor to document the people who have been part of your life for so many years, and this session was filled with so much love, laughter, and genuine connection.

Extended family sessions have become some of my favorite types of photography because they preserve relationships that grow more valuable with time. Children grow up, grandchildren are born, families move away, and before you know it, it’s been years since everyone was together in one photograph.

That’s why I always encourage families to take advantage of opportunities to document these moments while everyone is together.

Why I Love Denzil Stewart Park Extended Family Photos

If you’re looking for a location that works beautifully for large family groups, it’s hard to beat Denzil Stewart Park.

One of the reasons I recommend Denzil Stewart Park extended family photos so often is because the park offers a wonderful balance of natural beauty and accessibility. The mature trees, open grassy spaces, paved walking paths, and mountain views create a timeless backdrop while giving us plenty of room to photograph large groups comfortably.

The variety within the park also allows us to create several different looks during one session without needing to travel between locations. We can capture the full extended family, individual households, grandparents with grandchildren, sibling groups, and candid moments—all within the same beautiful setting.

It’s one of my favorite locations in Logan for families of every size.

Extended Family Portraits Become Part of Your Family History

One of the things I love most about extended family photography is knowing these images will only become more meaningful with time.

Right now, they may be used for holiday cards or framed in the living room.

Years from now, they’ll become a visual record of your family’s story.

Children will grow taller.

Grandchildren will become parents themselves.

Grandparents will be remembered through the photographs they shared with the people they loved most.

Those are the kinds of images that become treasured family heirlooms.

That’s why I believe extended family portraits are one of the best investments a family can make.

Large Family Sessions Can Still Feel Relaxed

When families first contact me about extended family portraits, one of the biggest concerns I hear is that coordinating everyone will feel overwhelming.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to.

I guide families through the entire session, beginning with the full group while everyone is together. From there, we move through each family unit, grandparents with grandchildren, sibling combinations, cousins, and any additional groupings that are important to your family.

Having a simple plan keeps the session moving efficiently while leaving plenty of room for natural smiles and genuine interaction.

Some of my favorite photographs happen between the posed moments when families are simply enjoying each other’s company.

Why It’s Worth Scheduling the Session

Life rarely slows down enough to feel like the “perfect” time for family pictures.

Work schedules fill up.

Kids have sports.

Family members move to different cities or states.

The years pass quickly.

I’ve learned that the best time to schedule family photos is whenever everyone happens to be together.

Those opportunities are worth preserving.

The Belnap family’s session was a beautiful reminder of just how meaningful it is to gather the people you love and create something that will last for generations.

Preserving the People Who Matter Most

Photographing my uncle’s family was such a meaningful experience because it combined two things I love most: family and photography.

As a photographer serving Logan, Cache Valley, Providence, Smithfield, Hyde Park, and surrounding Northern Utah communities, I love helping families preserve the relationships that make their stories unique.

If you’re considering Denzil Stewart Park extended family photos, I’d love to help create a relaxed, enjoyable session that captures your family exactly as you are today—because today’s moments become tomorrow’s most treasured memories.
