It’s family picture season! I’m preparing for ours as well so I know there can be a few things that cause stress during family pictures. #1 being the question…what to wear. We’re keeping it very simple today with five tips for what to wear for family pictures.
1. Dress Up
Dress up for family pictures! These are pictures will be hanging up on your walls, displayed at grandmas, and looked back at for years. Take it a step above your everyday outfit.
2. Choose Complementing Colors
Pick out one main color and then add accent colors that are complementing! I always suggest starting with one outfit you love, and adding the others to the pile. Use different tones/shades of colors and some patterns to add variety. Be careful to not use too many patterns though as it can get too busy in the pictures with a lot of patterns.
3. Avoid Distracting Clothing
Don’t wear clothing that has big logos or lots of writing on it. Logos and writing on clothing distracts from the pictures.
4. Accessorize!
Adding accessories like hats, jewelry, scarves, watches, belts and jackets makes the pictures more personal to each person in the family. It also adds texture and spices things up.
5. Wear Clothing You are Comfortable In
If it isn’t something you would normally wear or that you feel comfortable in, don’t wear it. Pay attention to anything you are self-conscious about.
