How to Plan a Cohesive Outfit for Your Family Photos
Are you getting ready for family photos and feeling overwhelmed at the thought of coordinating outfits for everyone? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. The Pace family recently had their photos taken with us and they did an incredible job planning out their looks. We wanted to share their outfit tips with other families so they can achieve a cohesive look while still allowing each individual to shine. Let’s take a look at what they did!
1. Start with Neutrals:
When planning your family photos, start by picking out the neutral base pieces that will be the foundation of each person’s outfit. For example, in the Pace family photo, mom chose a white dress, dad opted for a grey shirt, and Charlie wore a white button-up shirt. This allowed them to have similar tones across all the outfits but not be too matchy-matchy.
2. Incorporate Some Color:
After nailing down some neutrals, add in some pops of color to make your outfits stand out even more! Lola wore a colorful dress and Maelie had a skirt with bright colors that added so much personality to her look. They also included colored bows on their daughter’s dresses which was such an adorable touch!
3. Add in Patterns:
Patterns can be tricky when it comes to coordinating outfits for pictures but if done right it can really make an impact! Maelie wore this perfect gingham skirt that added just enough pattern without distracting from her sisters’ looks or taking away from the overall feel of the photo.
Once you have chosen your outfits, don’t forget about how location plays into the overall aesthetic of your picture! The Pace family chose this amazing spot with green grass, tall yellow grass, big green trees, rocks and water as their backdrop which turned out perfectly with their ensemble choices!
We hope these tips help give you inspiration when planning what everyone should wear for your next family photo session! Good luck!
