Kids are unpredictable and often don’t want to sit still (or smile!) when you’re trying to capture the perfect moment together. The good news is that there are plenty of tips and tricks you can use to make sure your family photo shoot goes off without a hitch.

1. Don’t worry if your kids aren’t smiling.
We will do all the silly things to get your kids to look our direction. If you are worried about your kids, you will be looking away or making weird faces. Just worry about you and we’ll do the rest.
2. Get to the shoot a little early
Getting to your chosen location early allows your family time to settle in before things get underway. Plus, it gives you time to get your final outfits ready and hair fixed up. Letting your kids explore the area and get comfortable will also help them relax once it’s time for photos.
3. Have Fun with It
Family photo shoots don’t have to be serious affairs! Make sure everyone is having fun by playing games or telling jokes while you take pictures. If kids get bored easily (which is likely), WE will switch up poses frequently or try different locations around your chosen spot periodically throughout the session.
Taking family photos with little kids doesn’t have to be stressful! By following these tips—being prepared, setting up early, and having fun with it—you can ensure that your next family portrait turns out perfect. And remember, if all else fails, just let them be themselves; that’s usually when the best shots happen anyway!
