Lexie & Rocky | Newlywed Mini Session
I worked briefly with Lexie and Rocky in Logan a few years ago and I was so excited when I saw that they signed up for my first set of mini sessions. They are the cutest fairly newlyweds who don’t have little ones yet and I applaud them for taking the time to take updated couple pictures. The weather was beautiful, and the sun was bright, and the location delivered. This was such a fun newlywed mini session!
Mini sessions are perfect for newly married couples. Big life events are what usually sparks the need to professionally document your lives, and after your wedding, that next event is usually a new addition to the family. Sometimes that could be a year, sometimes 10 years later, but I advise, do not let too much time go by without documenting who you are in those early stages of marriage. This time really is the sweet spot. All the pressure is off. These images will not have the reputation of being your wedding pictures for the rest of your life, and all the extra added stress of wedding planning is over, and there are not a thousand extra people hanging around watching you try to awkwardly have a special moment with your new spouse while trying to smile the exact right way.
The best thing about having a mini session in those in-between years is that you are already trained on how to pose, and what to expect in a session because you had engagements done not too long ago for your wedding. The pressure is off and this is just another Tuesday night, but you’re a little more dressed up and you’re flirtatiously frolicking around a field of wildflowers and smooching your spouse for 30 minutes while having your picture taken. I mean it could be more romantic than a Netflix and date nights am I right?
