Mallory & Tony | Old Rock Church Wedding

Mallory & Tony | Old Rock Church Wedding

My first Wedding as a Kylee Ann Associate Photographer was a whirlwind! I was pulled in at the last minute to help shoot Mallory and Tony’s wedding at the Old Rock Church Bed and Breakfast. Kylee came out of wedding photography retirement and I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to shoot with the expert! Their wedding would also be my first COVID wedding experience.

Because I was a last-minute addition to the job, I didn’t have a chance to talk to or meet the bride and groom before showing up for their big day. This was the first time I got to shoot at this beautiful venue and as I walked from the parking lot up the long concrete stairs to the bride room, I knew this would be an awesome experience! I was a little nervous because I have never shot a wedding that I didn’t spend countless hours going over the details and schedule of a couple’s wedding day, let alone not knowing who my subjects would be. As I walked into the room and saw Mallory applying her own makeup and fixing her own hair, she had the wedding glow and I knew she was my bride. I still can’t believe how amazing of a job she did at getting herself ready.

The Bride Room at Old Rock Church was covered in mirrors and had a small stage to present our beautiful bride before she met her husband at the altar. We snapped a few images in her dress as her nerves built up awaiting her groom.

When it was time to get the ceremony started, I met her at the bottom of the outdoor grand staircase that led to a small audience of close family and friends. Everyone was in awe as she floated down the stairs like she was the doll in some sort of romantic hallmark movie. The ceremony was beautiful as they exchanged vows under an arbor full of pink and white flowers.

Mallory and Tony said their “I do’s” and headed inside to join their loved ones in a beautiful sun-lit hall. The caterers took the best precautions and packaged the meals for the day in individual cartons. Guests were able to stay with their families at their tables while everyone enjoyed their meal. Mallory and Tony danced their first dance together followed by all the fun traditional reception activities including cutting their beautiful cake.

As the party died down, Mallory changed into a beautiful spring dress and she and Tony exited down the concrete grand staircase with a birdseed exit and farewell from their closest friends and families. It was a beautiful day that hat COVID-19 could not ruin.
