What’s In My Wedding Photography Bag

Yesterday I wrote a blog telling you what’s in your photography bag doesn’t matter the way you think it does. The point of the blog was to let photographers know that the equipment you own doesn’t make you a better photographer: YOU DO!! While I still believe this blog to be true, you still want to know what’s in my bag.

What’s in your photography bag and what’s in your wedding bag are actually two very different things. It may be okay to shoot a portrait session with an entry level DSLR and kit lens, but when it comes to professional wedding photography I would not recommend it. Also, remember that EVERY wedding photographer has different photography bag contents because what’s in our bags depends on our shooting style and lens or body preference.

During the past three years as a photographer, I have owned and shot weddings with 5 different camera bodies, 14 different lenses and countless accessories. I have used Nikon, Canon, Sigma and Tamron brand equipment. Having explored MANY options, I finally have a wedding bag that I absolutely love! I would suggest that you rent or borrow different equipment to get a feel for you love as you are building your own perfect wedding photography bag!
