Some family sessions feel less like work and more like spending an evening with friends.
That’s exactly how I would describe the Scott family’s Saltaire family photos.
Danielle is a mom of three boys, just like me, so we instantly connected. Throughout the session we spent more time laughing and playing than worrying about poses, which is honestly my favorite way to photograph families.

Why Saltaire is such a unique family photo location
Saltaire offers something completely different from traditional family photo spots.
The wide-open landscape, beautiful textures, and expansive skies create a look that’s hard to find anywhere else in Utah. The scenery feels both dramatic and simple at the same time.
The magic of an incredible sky
One thing I’ll never forget about this session was the sky.
The colors behind the Scott family were absolutely stunning and created the perfect backdrop for their portraits. While beautiful scenery is always a bonus, it’s the family connection that makes photos memorable.

Letting kids be kids
With three boys involved, there was plenty of movement, energy, and laughter.
Instead of trying to force perfection, we focused on interaction and connection. Some of my favorite family photos happen when kids are simply being themselves.
The result is a gallery that feels authentic rather than overly posed. Reach out here if you’d like photos like these.
