This was my very first Thanksgiving away from my home in Washington. At first I was dreading it. Thanksgiving without all my aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and grandparents seemed soo lonely and quiet. But this weekend turned out to be one of the best in a long time! It was sooo great spending the entire weekend with my little family. Of course I still missed everyone, but it was just what we needed. We cooked together, shopped together, played together, cleaned together and spent so much quality time together. We didn’t have to drive 24 hours+ in one weekend with 2 kids and we slept in our own beds. Ahh…heaven.
We hosted our first Thanksgiving ever with Luke’s dad on Thursday. We made fancy mashed potatoes, fancy pies and so much food. Lots of learning, lots of cleaning and a whole lot of work. We loaded the dishes about 300 times and wiped the counters down just as many. But it was worth it. So much fun. I just have to add that my husband is the BEST cook + he loves it. He was looking up recipes for us to cook for weeks. He also loves to clean. And shop. I married a good one. After Thanksgiving dinner at home, we stopped by my extended family’s pie feast. It was so great to be with family all day long.
Luke and I spent Black Friday together shopping all the great deals in Logan. We checked off alllll our Christmas lists for our kids and our family + way too much more. We spent the weekend visiting with my aunts, cousins and grandparents. We attempted to go sledding, but it was an epic fail after the kids got sprayed in the face. Brody still ended up playing in the snow for an hour and loved it. I wrapped up all the presents, danced around with the kids and Luke and watched sooo many Christmas movies. It was the greatest break.
