Darci, the mom of the family, knows how to do Christmas right. She arrived with the cutest matching holiday pajamas, the biggest smiles, and an energy that instantly lit up the room. She wanted a quick session for holiday cards — something relaxed, fun, and full of personality — and that’s exactly what we captured.

Micro sessions are short and sweet, usually around 10 minutes with 10 edited photos, making them perfect for milestone updates, refreshed family portraits, or holiday cards. They’re ideal for busy families, especially little ones who don’t always love posing for the camera.

This year, we used Light Loft Studios in Layton, Utah, for an indoor setup. The natural light pouring through the windows, combined with white walls and a cozy Christmas setup, created a warm and inviting backdrop. The Thorstead kids stole the show. Within minutes, they were giggling, snuggling, and showing off their silly faces. Then, their energy made capturing joy effortless. However, even in a fast-paced 10-minute session, we captured a beautiful mix of classic portraits, candid snuggles, and playful sibling moments.
