I love my home. Not just because it has a Target and a Costco, or the best Sushi in the world. Mostly because I have the best family ever. My parents, most of my siblings and both set of grandparents live in Washington. When we go home, we are blessed with so much quality time with family. This trip was a little bit crazier than most. My dad left for a trip the day after us, and our family friend + top leader in Yoli came a few days after me. There were trips to the airport, Yoli meetings and parties, and so much going on.
While my mom was doing her thing, we went on adventures with the grandparents. My grandma Falter has “grandma” memberships all over the place in Washington. Coolest ever. We spent one day at the Hands on Children’s Museum, and another at Northwest Trek. The kids were in heaven. The museum is full of everything a kid could possibly love, and they played for hours! Northwest Trek is a wildlife park with so many PNW animals in their natural habitat. We rode a tram all around in the forest to see animals “in the wild.” Brody loves leading us around with his map and reading every sign. We were blessed to have my brother’s best friend, Macey, come with us too on both adventures. Not only is she the cutest + we love her, but she is so helpful and amazing with my kids.
Though it was a bit crazy, we fit in so many other Washington favorites. We took grandma B out for a break to get manis and pedis…because Washington has the best nail salons. We did our traditional Costco run, started Christmas shopping and browsed Target. I spent time visiting with Grandma/pa B and Bry, with and without my kids. Bry and I watched every video on my phone and reminisced on all the times he coached me on the sidelines through high school. Brody had his Easy Mac (go-to-Grandma-B-food) twice and Piper got to play with the plastic dogs. Brody and Piper were in heaven with their aunt Em and Uncle Adam all week long. They played with them soooo much. I even managed to fit in a few shoots with my favorites and watch my kids jump on the tramp in the pouring rain. I call that a successful PNW weekend.
