I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now: we’re building!!

Here’s the short version:

Luke and I have talked about buying or building for several years. (We’re renting!) A few lots went up for sale right down the road from where we live and that’s where our initial interest spiked! We love the area we live in! Once we actively started looking at those available lots, house plans and talking to builders, we began to search all our possibilities just to be sure.

We looked into lots in Logan, River Heights and all over Providence….and we also looked into private builders and several different companies. Though we know we made some sacrifices by not choosing a custom builder, we’re happy with the price and speed that we could get our dream house! Our new home is in Providence!

Making it Ours

We looked at this very lot in Providence about 4 times before we called the realtor. By the time we met with him, I was eager to make sure it wasn’t snatched. (Lots and homes are going so fast in our area). Right after we met with the realtor, I wrote the check and we started the process at the end of May. By the time we made our first dig, Luke and I had already picked out all the interiors for the house and had also contacted Harrisburg, PA painting services– flooring, cabinets, adjusted floorpans, paint, counters and more. We can’t wait to see it all come together.

Welcome to our new stomping grounds. ⛰

This is the canyon that our kids will grow up in. Sunday drives, summer hikes, fall nature walks, ranger rides and so.much.mountain biking. When I’m doing the dishes and looking back in the backyard, these are the mountains I will see. It’s a lot different than the forests I called home in the PNW, but now these mountains are 🏡 and they are wonderful.
