Aslynn’s due date is one week from today! Mr. Quaid decided he wanted to come two weeks early. Aslynn started having contractions the day before while she was working. At 4:30 AM the next day she began having really consistent contractions. A few hours later she woke Christopher up. (She is the nicest wife ever for letting him sleep…I always woke Luke up after any movement.) They got ready to go and headed up to the hospital. They texted me around 8:30 AM. She was at 4cm with contractions 3-5 minutes apart. She labored naturally until around 1:00ish PM when she was around 7cm then asked for an epidural. I headed up around 2:00 PM.
Aslynn and Chris were all smiles the entire time I was there. No complaints — just happiness and anticipation. I also loved that they had all their families in and out visiting the whole time. Aslynn’s mom drove in from Missouri! She drove through the night with her three year old and was in the car for 18 hours by the time she pulled up to the hospital at noon. Chris’s three brothers, sister, sister-in-law and parents were in the hallway during the entire labor and delivery anxiously anticipating their first nephew/grandson. Their excitement was SO fun to watch.
At around 5:00pm, Aslynn began pushing. After just a few pushes, she was asked to stop while they got the room ready and called the doctor. In less than 10 minutes after Dr. Smith came in baby Quaid Edward was here. He was teeny and adorable, so curious and alert.

I loved watching Aslynn and Christopher showing off their sweet babe and sharing these special moments surrounded by those that loved them the most.
