There’s something so special about watching a family grow in front of your lens—and with the Fidel family, it’s been a joy from day one. From their wedding photos years ago to this sunny lakeside session with their little boy and happy pup in tow, photographing their Bountiful Pond family photos has felt like catching up with old friends.

This shoot had all the best things: a gorgeous location, the cutest kiddo, and a dog that might just be the most photogenic pup I’ve ever met. Bountiful Pond is one of our favorite springtime locations, and it’s easy to see why. With open water, wild grasses, and the dreamy touch of Russian olive trees, it’s perfect. It’s got that effortless, nature-kissed vibe that photographs beautifully. The light that evening was soft and golden, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxed, joy-filled portraits.

The Sweetest Moments I Get a Front Row Seat to

One of my favorite moments from the session? Watching their little guy hold hands with his parents while their pup ran circles around them. It was one of those real-life, everyday magic kinds of moments—the ones you want to hold onto forever. And now, they can.
