Emi and Dave met a few years ago at a party thanks to some mutual mission/high school friends. Emi thought that Dave was so funny and wanted to get to know him better. They easily became best friends. They have had their ups and downs through their story, but through it all they have only been made stronger. Dave proposed a few weeks ago and the story is so sweet, I’ll just let Emi tell it from her point of view!

Emi: “IT WAS SO CUTE.

One of our first and favorite dates was walking out to the dock on the frozen Hyrum reservoir and just goofing around. It’s always been a special place.

I texted him the day we got engaged and asked for a ride home from school. When his roommate came and picked me up, I was VERY suspicious. I got to my place and on my kitchen table when I first walked in was a note and a rose that said “Make sure you check upstairs.”

When I went upstairs, there was a bunch of lights and a vase of flowers and a note that said a bunch of cute stuff, ending with “Take time to get ready, I’ll pick you up at 5:45.” He’d picked out one of my dresses and heels to wear.

I got ready in ten minutes, and had THE LONGEST 45 min wait of my life. I sat with roommates, some who had lived with me for the last two years and we reminisced over Dave and I’s relationship.

He picked me up, opened my door and “Let’s Get Married” by Bleachers was playing. He’d made a playlist of our songs for the drive.

He started to take me up the canyon and took me to a couple different locations, pulling in and then going “JOKES ON YOU, NOT HERE.” Bless him.

We made our way toward Hyrum, and he drove me to the reservoir. The sun was setting, the lake was semi frozen and the mountains were SO purple. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

Because the lake was not frozen and we appreciate not dying, he had set out a spot with lights and candles on the beach where he walked me over, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. SO CUTE. His roommate was taking pictures and they turned out so cute.

After, we went to Pizza Plus because it is the best pizza in Cache Valley HANDS DOWN and also one of our favorite places. He’s great. I love him.”

I love where I live and I love being a Logan Canyon Engagement Photographer. We had blast photographing their engagements and I love getting to see them so in love! These two really do have a solid friendship foundation and it shows through in all their photos! Emi’s outfit from Roolee was the perfect spring dress. I can’t wait for their wedding this spring!!
