Engagement sessions are one of my favorite ways to capture a couple’s story before the wedding day. There’s something about this season—exciting, a little surreal, and full of anticipation—that deserves to be documented in a way that feels natural and true to who they are. For this session in Layton, Utah, my goal was to create images that felt effortless, connected, and genuinely reflective of their relationship. That’s the heart of engagement photography—capturing real moments, not just poses.
Choosing a Location That Feels Personal
Layton offers a variety of beautiful backdrops, from open fields to mountain views, which makes it easy to create a session that feels both scenic and intimate. For this shoot, we leaned into a location that gave us soft natural textures and plenty of space to move around comfortably.
