Fort Buenaventura Family Photography | Four Generations with the Medina Family
This session with the Medina family was one for the books. When Christina reached out to schedule Fort Buenaventura family photography, I knew it was going to be meaningful—but I don’t think I was fully prepared for just how special it would feel to document four generations of love, legacy, and strength in one frame.
Christina booked an extended family session with Kylee Ann Studios because she wanted to celebrate the beautiful history on both sides of her family—her mom’s and her dad’s. This wasn’t just a photoshoot. It was a tribute to their roots, their stories, and the powerful women who’ve led the way.

With family spread across Davis and Weber County, they needed a location that felt central, but still beautiful and a little unique. Christina’s brother suggested Fort Buenaventura, and wow—what a perfect choice. The soft greenery, the rustic charm, and the natural textures gave us the best backdrop for such an intimate gathering.
From the youngest to the oldest, every generation showed up with love and pride. I watched grandkids laugh with their great-grandparents, sisters hold hands, and parents beam with joy as they stood beside their grown children. The connection between them was palpable.

Special Moments to Cherish
One of my favorite moments was photographing each generational set—from the great-grandparents with the littlest ones to the full family together. You could see how deeply rooted this family is, and how much they value where they came from. There were so many sweet, in-between moments: a gentle hand squeeze here, a quick wipe of a teary eye there—it all told a story far beyond just smiling faces.
Sessions like this are exactly why I do what I do. Family photography isn’t just about pictures—it’s about legacy. It’s about freezing time for just a second so future generations can look back and see the love that built them.
If you’ve been thinking about a generational shoot, let this be your nudge. Whether you’re honoring your elders, capturing new additions, or simply gathering everyone in one place, Fort Buenaventura is such a beautiful spot to do it. And I’d be honored to help you tell your family’s story.
