I have the most exciting news to share! In January 2014, High In Style was launched by Nicola Haggins and Kay Starr. High In Style started as an online magazine devoted to inspiring, motivating and guiding high school and college-age students. They have grown so much and so fast that they decided to start a monthly print edition for readers in high schools and colleges nationwide!! Last Thursday, they had their official High In Style Launch Party to celebrate. This celebration was super exciting for us too!
A few months ago I got a call from Nicky about the big launch. A shoot by Kylee Ann Photography was chosen to be used as the first cover for the print magazine!! Summer is my crazy busy season, where I have zero time to submit sessions and keep up with features so I was totally shocked. High In Style saw Ashlyn’s session on my Instagram account from the night of the session. They loved it and commented that they wanted to see more, so we sent in her entire gallery. Ashlyn filled out their survey and was a total inspiration to them. She was featured on their site.
High In Style was asking photographers to submit sessions to be chosen for the cover a few months later. I was swamped and never had time to do it. Without submitting anything, they believed Ashlyn (currently Sister Johnson) represented exactly what their magazine is about. They chose her to be their cover girl! I would have to agree – she is amazing! We were invited out to New York for the launch, but of course Ashlyn is serving a LDS mission in Russia and I am in the middle of crazy. However, we are both honored and cannot wait to see the first official magazine release in January!
Here are a few photos from the launch party. They had a huge billboard, debut magazines and a cake with Ashlyn’s face on it! SOO EXCITING!

Kylee started Kylee Ann Photography 9 years ago, and has since grown from a one woman amateur show to a full associate team. We shoot 50-75 weddings a year, and thrive on kindness and service. After a year of teaching Intro to Photography at the local technical college, she discovered that helping other entrepreneurs create thriving businesses is what fires her up! She hosts semi-annual Kylee Ann Sleepovers all over the US, speak at conferences and teach online courses about running a small business and marketing.
