High School Sweetheart Success
Abi and Jon’s story is story of high school sweetheart success. Their wedding day was especially special because we went back to same place that they initially met, their high school! These two met in chemistry class a Juan Diego Catholic High School. They had made other plans for their wedding but realized that it didn’t feel right to get married anywhere other than their high school chapel.
It was my first Catholic ceremony and their sweet deacon was so sweet to help me know what to expect. There were so many sweet moments during the ceremony and Jon’s sister’s sang songs in the ceremony. There were many tearful eyes when they were pronounced married. It was such a sweet moment. After the ceremony, their parents hosted a champagne toast outside the high school to show their support for the couple. I’ve never seen that before and it was beautiful.
Market Street Grill Reception
Their reception was held at the Market Street Grill in SLC. It was the perfect place to host their friends and family and many traveled far to celebrate them. I have to say that this wedding it was especially hard to keep straight who’s family was who’s. Jon and Abi have been together for so long that they were basically already family, this day just solidified what was already there.
I’m so honored to also say that Abi had a separate bouquet set aside the whole day. When asked who it was for, she kept saying that she was going to give it to someone. Toward the end of the night she approached me carrying it, and I figured we were going to head to whoever it was for. She floored me when she handed this sweet bouquet to ME! It was the sweetest gesture and I definitely shed a tear over it. These are the moments that make this job incredibly rewarding. I love these two and their love story. Congrats guys and good luck with your new job!
