• More comfortable temperatures
• A calmer atmosphere for kids
• That dreamy glowy coastal look everyone loves

And honestly, toddlers usually do much better during evening sessions too because they’ve had time to wake up fully and settle into the day.

Parking is usually the biggest stress point for families heading to Del Mar Beach, but with a little planning, it’s completely manageable.

I always recommend arriving early, especially during summer and weekends. Del Mar can get busy fast, particularly near sunset.

Street parking is available near several beach access points, and there are also paid lots nearby depending on which section of Del Mar we’re shooting at.

• Packing snacks and water
• Keeping outfits wrinkle-friendly for the drive

That’s not the goal.

Creams, soft blues, warm neutrals, muted greens, and light earthy tones all photograph beautifully against the sand and ocean.

And honestly? Barefoot almost always looks best at Del Mar.
