One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is discovering new locations.
Alyssa and Ethan’s Layton Bird Refuge bridal photos introduced me to a location I hadn’t photographed before, and I absolutely loved the results.
The simple, neutral landscape allowed the focus to stay exactly where it belonged—on the couple.

Why simple backgrounds work so well
Sometimes less is more.
The soft grasses and natural surroundings of the Layton Bird Refuge created a clean backdrop that helped Alyssa and Ethan stand out beautifully. Rather than competing with the scenery, the location complemented them.

Meaningful wedding details
One of my favorite parts of the session was a special parasol Alyssa included in some of her portraits.
The parasol came from her dad’s mission, which added a meaningful family connection to the gallery. I love when couples incorporate personal details because those touches help make the images uniquely theirs.
Looking ahead to their wedding day
These formals made me even more excited for their upcoming summer wedding.
The connection between Alyssa and Ethan was so natural, and every image felt effortless. Combined with the stunning details on Alyssa’s dress, the entire session came together beautifully. Contact me here to get photos like these for yourself!
