How Did You Meet:

One day I came home from school and I was venting to my room mate, Emilee, about how I was so tired of dating and that nothing turned out to work (4 break ups in the past year!). She offered to set me up with one of her friends that she group up with (Stone). She showed me some of his pictures on Facebook, and I said I would be down to meet him but I wasn’t super sure about a blind date. I was kind over blind dates at the time. So she offered to do a group activity where we invited Stone and his room mates (Marcus, who she also group up with and Jed). We called them up to see if they wanted to go rock climbing up rock canyon with us the next morning. So my brother (Jaxson), me, Emilee, Stone, Marcus and Jed all went rock climbing up rock canyon, and I taught them how to rock climb! It was super fun, but it was also October and it was starting to get colder. We were climbing the the shade and I asked if anyone wanted to go stand in the sun with me to warm up. Marcus took me up on the offer! When we were in the sun talking I had mentioned how later that day I was going to go to the farmers market and buy apples for a homemade apple pie I was making for a dinner that Emilee was putting together. He said “Oh yeah! I’m coming to that!” I said “Oh cool did Em invite you.” He responded “No… but your making apple pie so I am going to come!” And just like that he totally invited himself to dinner and got my phone number! We saw each other everyday that week for different reasons and by Thursday we had our first date!

Where was your first date? What did you do?

Our first date, was about 8:30 pm on a Thursday night. I had just finished a mid-term for a bible class, and I texted him that I was done. He called me and asked if he could pick me up, and take me to get sushi to celebrate. I told him that I had actually drove to campus but that he could pick me up at my apartment! He came by and picked me up and we went to 5-sushi bros! It was so yummy and I ate WAY more than him. Later I found out he was so nervous he couldn’t eat. That night I came home and told my roommate Em about the date. She thought it was so funny how I ended up going out with Marcus instead of Stone. I told her that that night I totally fell in love with his smile! When he smiles he smiles with his whole soul. I still melt when I see that smile 6 months later!
