Jason and Shandi were so excited to welcome their sweet baby into the world on Independence Day. Jason was insistent on the 4th of July so the baby could have fireworks on his birthday every year. It took a bit of convincing and scheduling to get the doctors and nurses on board with waiting one more day, but by noon they were in and ready to go. I headed up to the hospital a little bit after they broke her water and started her pitocin. It took several hours for the contractions to kick in, but once they did Shandi moved right along. And she only had to push for a few minutes before baby came out. Shandi is a rockstar. He was a beautiful, chubby baby boy. Measuring in at 8lbs8oz. He is so blessed to have such loving, caring parents! I can tell just by how hard they’ve worked on preparing for his arrival that he’s going to be so loved, and spoiled…in the best way.
