B and J are adorably sweet, goofy and all around fun. They grew up in the same town, went to the same high school, knew the same people, but didn’t meet each other until much later. When they finally did, it was love. Anyone who is around these two can tell. We had so much fun on Saturday night at their engagement session in Mantua. They both brought their parents along to help. We had one mom on ring duty, one mom on eye duty and dad on tie duty. Together they made a great team. I love how well the “in-laws” got along. It’s sure to be a beautiful and incredibly fun wedding day.
The Box Elder Campground is so gorgeous, with a few patches of poppies, wild flowers, tall grass and rocks. At the end of our time at the campgrounds, B ran around the field in his suit to collect flowers. He literally ran from corner to corner to create the most perfect handmade bouquet of wildflowers for J. It would have melted your hearts to watch. After his bouquet was perfect, we made a short visit to the Mantua Reservoir for a few last pictures. The light and weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
My good friend, Erica, from my Stake/Seminary back home was friends with J in BYU-Hawaii. They now both live in Provo together. I am so glad Erica made this connection for us! When we started talking during engagements, we made all sorts of other connections. I went to college with one of her best friends from back home in Ogden, and she is going to college with one of mine from back home in Washington. It’s such a small world.
