I have major winter driving anxiety. Especially with all the fatal accidents lately. I left an hour early for my Ogden Utah Temple Wedding thinking the snowy roads might make things go a little slower. At the end of the canyon all traffic was stopped for miles. I waited in the line until everyone had turned around and I was at the front. Deja vu from a few years ago with traffic stopped before an out of town wedding. It really doesn’t happen often..just when I NEED to be somewhere. I wasn’t going to turn around even though most people did and I was having serious anxiety about missing the wedding.
Five minutes after I made it to the front of the line the sheriff could finally come down and tell us what was happening. A fatal accident. Ah, I hate those words….especially when I found it out was a 23 year old USU student. The sheriff told me the canyon closed for several hours, but there was a shortcut in Mantua to get through to my wedding. I’m so glad I waited in line to get direction from the Sheriff. I was in full panic mode by then. I got lost in Mantua trying to lead a line of cars through to Brigham, but a nice man shoveling his driveway came through and we made it.The bride’s flowers weren’t at the temple so she was still waiting inside by the time I got there. So many tender mercies.
It was such a beautiful wedding. Carli and Lyden are head over heels for each other. They were ADORABLE. Completely adorable. Indoors, we were able to snap a few quick shots of their stunning engagement rings from Metal Couture as well as the wedding rings. The bright white of the snow outside made for some beautiful photos. Poor Carli had uncomfortable shoes, so she took them off and walked around barefoot in the snow. These two were FREEZING by the end, but such troopers through all the pictures.
